It was great meeting all our new students and families at our Virtual Online Welcome this week. If you are new to our school or were not able to get a laptop - or you are a returning student and need to exchange your technology - please fill in the following Taft Technology Survey by 8/31/20:

 Getting Started with Your Chromebook

 PowerSchool Parent Portal – Getting Started

Parent Portal is a web-based application that provides parents secured access to a wide array of their children's school data, such as: student schedules, attendance activity, class assignments, and current grades. To access the Parent Portal, families will need to create an account at the web address: powerschool.sandi.net. If you need assistance with creating an account or have problems logging in, please follow the link below for additional guidance. Existing SDUSD students articulating to the next grade level do not need to create a new account or submit new enrollment cards; all data will be rolled over in PowerSchool. Please use your Parent Portal account to update contact information and emergency information if it changes.

Troubleshooting Chromebook Errors

If your students are reporting strange technical issues with their district Chromebooks, (which may or may not include iBoss filtering errors, windows not loading, or sites/windows loading extremely slowly) please ask students to do the following to clear the Chrome data cache.

  • Close all tabs
  • Click three dots in top right corner
  • Click more tools
  • Click clear browsing data
  • Before clicking clear data, change the setting from last hour to all time
  • Clear data
  • Close tab
  • Click the bottom left corner of the screen with the time
  • Push "shut down" symbol right next to sign out
  • After it goes black screen, turn it back on
  • Log in and check to see if it works!

This should greatly improve the computers' speed and efficiency.  If issues persist, contact Distance Learning Tech Support at 619.732.1400 (Open 8-5 M-F).
